The iconic Abuja City Gate is now the first West Africa landmark to be bathed in the celebrated Irish green light in honour of the special ties between Ireland and Nigeria as part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. St. Patrick’s is a day set aside to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland and Nigeria, with the ‘greening’ of iconic monuments around the globe in the Irish national colour. This year, the Abuja City Gate takes its pride of place on the worldwide trail, as it joins the iconic Niagara Falls, The Great Wall of China, The Leaning Tower of Pisa and other global monuments in bearing the Irish green light.
